First, the introduction
Gear oils should have good abrasion resistance, load resistance and suitable viscosity. In addition, it should have good thermal oxidation stability, anti-foaming properties, water separation properties and anti-rust properties. Since the gear load is generally above 490 MPa, and the hyperbolic tooth surface load is as high as 2942 MPa, the amount of gear oil accounts for 6% to 8% of the total lubricant. Gear oil is a lubricant with excellent performance.
Gear oil is mainly based on petroleum lubricating base oil or synthetic lubricating oil, and is an important lubricating oil prepared by adding extreme pressure anti-wear agent and oily agent. It is used in various gear transmissions to prevent tooth surface wear, abrasion, sintering, etc., prolong its service life and improve transmission power efficiency. Gear oils should have good abrasion resistance, load resistance and suitable viscosity. In addition, it should have good thermal oxidation stability, anti-foaming properties, water separation properties and anti-rust properties. Since the gear load is generally above 490 MPa, and the hyperbolic tooth surface load is up to 2942 MPa, in order to prevent the oil film from rupturing and causing tooth surface wear and abrasion, extreme pressure anti-wear agents are often added to the gear oil, and sulfur is commonly used. - Phosphorus or sulfur-phosphorus-nitrogen additive.
Gear oils generally require the following six basic properties:
1, suitable viscosity and good viscosity temperature, viscosity is the most basic performance of gear oil. The viscosity is large, the formed lubricating oil film is thick, and the load resistance is relatively large.
2, sufficient extreme pressure and wear resistance
Extreme pressure and wear resistance is the most important and most important feature of gear oil.
It is to prevent the wear, abrasion and gluing of the tooth surface during exercise.
Anti-wear and load-resistance performance is generally above 490 MPa due to gear load, and the hyperbolic tooth surface load is up to 2942 MPa. To prevent flaking and scratching of the oil film due to oil film rupture, extreme pressure anti-wear agents are generally added to the gear oil. Previously used sulfur-chlorine, sulfur-phosphorus-chloride, sulfur-chloro-phosphorus-zinc, sulfur-lead and sulfur-phosphorus-lead additives. Sulfur-phosphorus or sulfur-phosphorus-nitrogen type additives are commonly used.
3, good anti-emulsification
Emulsification and deterioration of the gear oil in contact with water will seriously affect the formation of the lubricating oil film and cause scratches and abrasion.
4, good oxidation stability and thermal stability
Good thermal oxidation stability guarantees the service life of the oil.
5, good anti-foaming
The resulting foam does not disappear quickly and will affect the formation of the oil film at the gear mesh. The entrainment of the foam reduces the actual working oil and affects heat dissipation.
6, good rust and corrosion resistance
Corrosion and rust not only destroy the geometric characteristics and lubrication state of the gear, but corrosion and rust products will further cause the gear oil to deteriorate and produce a vicious circle.
Gear oils should also have other properties such as adhesion, shear stability and the like. At present, the extreme pressure additives used in most medium and heavy-duty industrial gear oils in China are mainly sulfur-phosphorus type and the quality level of similar foreign products.
