The choice of lubricating oil can be upgraded to the level recommended by the manufacturer, or the performance of synthetic engine oil is better.
In addition, there are now common oils for winter and summer on the market. General purpose oil maintains stable lubrication performance regardless of temperature, and provides better protection for the engine. Therefore, this oil is the best choice.
If the engine is new or in good condition, use as low a viscosity as possible, such as 0w-40, 5w-40 and 10w-40, to make the lubricant flow faster and reduce wear during start-up. If it is in the high temperature season or the engine has worn to a certain extent, it is necessary to use high viscosity oil, such as 15w-50, which will help to form a thicker oil film, maintain oil pressure and reduce oil consumption.
2, no need to add additives in the lubricant
Experts say it is generally not recommended to add additives to the lubricant. Because the lubricant itself is composed of base oils and additives, its formulation has been tested and screened. Adding additives may be counterproductive, not only reducing the original cleaning and anti-wear properties of the lubricant, but also increasing sludge and carbon deposits, affecting engine performance and service life.
Professionals warn that when changing lubricants, the lubricating oil filter generally needs to be replaced, so that the newly replaced lubricating oil can perform better. Lubricant products from different brands cannot be mixed.
3, identify good and bad have tricks
At present, there are many fake fish in the market, and many owners can't identify the quality of the lubricant. Now I will teach you a few tricks.
The first thing to observe. If the oil is clear, it is yellowish brown, indicating that its quality is good; if the color is turbid or emulsified, it means more water; if the oil has a burning odor, it means premature oxidation or mixing with other oils.
The second is to see if there is any sediment, and the sediment is not a good oil.
Third, the oil can be dripped on the iron plate or the exhaust pipe above 110 °C. If there is a popping sound, the oil contains moisture. In fact, the safest way is to purchase oil at a designated dealer, a big brand gas station or a repair shop.
