Regardless of whether you have travel plans or not, when it comes to cars, drivers who are going to travel long distances should pay attention. The following preparations must be in place. After all, safety comes first and no sloppy is allowed.

Check tires

(1) Check the appearance of each tire carefully to see if there are scratches. If the tire line inside has been injured, a new tire must be replaced.

(2) Carefully check the consistency of the four tires, drive on a flat road, do not hold the steering wheel, and see if you can go in a straight line, otherwise you need to do the next four-wheel alignment.

(3) Check the tread pattern. Generally, when the tire tread depth is less than 2mm, it cannot be used for long-distance running.

(4) Measure tire pressure. Generally, the tire pressure of a car is just 2.5, not too high or too low.

(5) Check the spare tire. Confirm that the spare tire is in good condition, and need to confirm whether the spare tire pressure meets the standard. 
 

Antifreeze liquid glass water

(1) Antifreeze can prevent the coolant from freezing and expanding when the car is parked in a cold area, causing the radiator and engine cylinder to freeze and crack. Antifreeze should be used all year round.

(2) The scale of the antifreeze liquid is generally on the box, and it is enough to confirm that the liquid level of the antifreeze is within the range of the scale.

(3) It is inseparable from high-speed glass water, especially in rain and snow, so it is best to fill the glass water for backup before traveling.

Check the lights

Including driving lights, reversing lights, brake lights, turn signals, interior lights, fog lights, etc., especially fog lights, if there is a problem, they need to be replaced immediately. After a journey, the weather may change a few times. In bad weather, the role of light is particularly important. If the light bulb is damaged in normal use, it is best to replace and repair it in time.

Check the brakes

Look at the thickness of the brake pads. If it feels too thin (less than 2mm), you need to replace it. Drive at a normal speed and try to see if there is anything abnormal by stepping on the brakes. Then park the car on the ramp to see if the handbrake works.

Check the battery

(1) The battery also has a service life. If the service life is longer than 3 years and the destination climate is relatively cold, you must pay attention to check it before running a long distance. In addition, it is best to bring two battery cables with the car in case of emergency.

(2) There is an observation hole on the battery of some cars. If the battery light is white, it means that it needs to be charged. If the battery light is black, it means that the battery needs to be replaced. If there is no observation hole, measure the battery voltage in the flameout state. If it is greater than 12V, there is no problem. Those without measuring tools can judge whether the car starts smoothly and whether the headlights are bright enough.

Check the whole vehicle

Check whether there are cracks in the glass, whether the door switch is abnormal, whether the instrument panel is working properly, the air conditioning cooling and heating function, the position of the mirror, the horn, the navigation, the steering, the wiper, etc. These are also places that need to be paid attention to in daily life.
